The Zidoo X6 Pro Android box comes in a small white box that tightly holds all of the main components: the actual Zidoo X6 Pro, an HDMI cable, a power adapter, and a remote. The X6 itself is a stylish silver color with black edges that looks premium compared to some other Android boxes on the market. The IR remote that comes in the box includes some nice features, including the ability to learn 5 buttons from any other IR remote and 3 quick-launch buttons you can configure to launch your favorite add-ons (like Kodi) from the main menu.

The first time you power the Zidoo X6 Pro, you are taken right into a very nice Android 5.1 home screen with large square icons and a bunch of preloaded apps installed like Kodi, OGYoutube (Youtube with download capavilities), Browser, Facebook, and Google Play Store. Other Android boxes make you go through a long setup and Google sign-in process before letting you see the goods, so it’s nice that the Zidoo X6 Pro comes ready to go.

Just from looking at the specs of the Zidoo X6 Pro, it was no surprise that it is able to play 1080p movies from add-ons like Genesis with ease. However, I wanted to see how it would hold up streaming live TV channels. I was pleased with how well I can stream live channels from the Phoenix add-on with no buffer from the Zidoo X6 Pro hardware! I like how the Cortex processor handles video and audio processing over some of the cheaper Android Kodi boxes. I did run into some issues with 3D video and audio playback using the X6 Pro, which had some playback freezing and audio crackling.

Overall, I believe that the Zidoo X6 Pro is a great Android-based Kodi box. A sleek silver look, great specs, and an easy setup process make this the perfect Kodi box for around$100. I’ve tried out a lot of Android Kodi boxes and have used ones that have trouble processing live video. The Zidoo X6 Pro is NOT one of those machines. If you are looking at buying a new Kodi box, the X6 Pro should get some serious consideration!
