Element Ti5 Review

The Element Ti5 stacks up to be one of the best Android-based Kodi boxes. With Android 4.4 becoming more and more obsolete and the official Kodi team coming out with new upgrades to the software more often, the Ti5 is in a great position to cement itself as a market leader for Android boxes.

The Element Ti5 puts itself ahead with an upgraded Amlogic S905 processor, 2 GB of ram, Android 5.1, Bluetooth 4.0, true 4K video support, and Kodi 16.0 loaded right out of the box. If you still have Android 4.4 or an older version of Kodi, now is the time to upgrade!

Kodi Element Ti5 Specs

  • AMlogic S905 Quad-Core 64-bit Cortex-A53up to 2.0GHz
  • Penta-Core Mali-450 Up to 750Mhz+
  • 2GB RAM
  • 16GB Memory
  • Android 5.1 Lollipop
  • Bluetooth 4.0
  • 2.4/5.0GHz Dual Band WiFi
  • Up to 4k resolutions
  • LAN 10/100 RJ-45
  • USB x 2 / SD Card x 1
  • HDMI 1.4 with HDCP Support
  • SPDIF & DOLBY TrueHD and DTS HD Bypass through HDMI

The Element Ti5 Android box comes in a small box that includes the Kodi box, an HDMI cable, a power adapter, and a remote. The first time you power the Element Ti5, you are taken right into their signature large icon home screen. The box comes preloaded with some favourited apps on the home screen – Kodi, Netflix, HBO Now, Sling, Pandora, and Speedtest.

Upon launching Kodi, it only takes a few seconds in the Element Ti5 splash screen before you are treated to the signature Confluence main menu. The Ti5 comes preloaded with many repos already installed – BlazeTamer, Exodus, Lambda, Metalkettle, Mucky Duck, and countless others, which saves a step when you go to add your own add-ons. This make it easy to install some of the great Kodi add-ons like ExodusPhoenix, Velocity, or VidTime

Element Ti5

It only took a few minutes of use to appreciate how quick Kodi responds compared to more outdated firmware boxes. Video playback was great and I didn’t suffer any Android-crashes which are common to any Kodi Android users.

Overall, I believe that the Element Ti5 is a great Android-based Kodi box, top of the line. A sleek look, great specs, and an easy setup process make this the perfect Kodi box for just a touch over $100.

  1. The Gbox is running an older S812 Chipset, Has a cheaper Wifi Module and if you know Matricom has numerous buggy firmwares. Matricom is pumping out old stuff and can’t even get that right. Go check out their forums and read the thousands of problems people have posted.

Why would Element spend time upgrading an old box to 5.1? They took the right route and introduced a new chipset with 5.1.

The Ti5 is the best box I have owned to date. And I have owned a lot, Including my favorite Paper Weight the G Box.

  2. I have a Ti4. The box is not upgradable from 4.4 android. When I spoke to the company about it, they had no plans to be able to make the unit upgradeable and told me they had a new box coming out and stated it was the Ti5. This was right after the 5.1 android was introduced.I was told that in order to get the Android 5.1, I would have to purchase the new unit.

I also have 2 G-Box units. They were able to easily upgrade and worked just as good as the Ti4 before I upgraded them to the 5.1 android. Now they are great. Why buy a new box?

Next time I will use a mini-PC as opposed to android boxes.
