January 12th: OpenELEC 7.0.1 has been released. This is a maintenance update that fix issues some people have with installing OpenELEC 7 after it was released last month.
- Fix problems with the Installer on x86 systems.
- Fix an issue which prevents booting SolidRun’s Cubox i4pro
OpenELEC 7 was released today and the official version is available for download. The biggest change in OpenELEC 7 is the inclusion of Kodi 16.1, the latest version of our favourite software. With Kodi 17 nearing release, this release from OpenELEC is very welcome!
If you don’t know, OpenELEC is an operating system designed and optimized for Kodi. It is popular on rooted Chromebox devices and is generally quicker and more optimized than Kodi on Android.
