How to Use Reddit Browser Kodi Addon

After installing the addon with the instructions below, you’ll see the following options from the main menu:

• Activate video mode
• Activate audio mode
• Activate pictures mode
• Tools
  • Authorize Reddit Browser
    • Activate http server and open link immediately
    • Open qrcode window and do other actions (advanced)
    • Authorize within Kodi (requires your reddit username and password)
    • Enter tokens manually
  • Settings
  • Install Plexus
  • Read Me
  • Clear function cache
  • Delete history
  • Purge bookmarks

 

Activate content in the addon by selecting one of the video/audio/pictures options. From that, a new menu will pop open with the following options:

• Mode: (Change your mode here)
• Reddit: Hot
• Reddit: New
• Search for Media
• Search for Subreddits
• Saved subreddits
• Bookmarks
• Tools

 

Search For Media

Enter in any media title you want to stream and reddit will be searched for media files that match your query. A list of media files matching your streams will be displayed.

Click on any title to see these options:

• Play/Display this item
• Open thread (to read comments from reddit)
• More actions – This option options up the context menu for the item.

 

Search For Subreddits

This more advanced option allows you to search for subreddits on reddit. When you open a subreddit, the threads will be listed as items within Kodi. Clicking on the threads will bring up the following options:

• Display comment
• Open thread
• Open actions (open the context menu)

Use the context menu to scrape comments for URLs to play.

Live Streaming Note: Live streams that are not acestream links probably do not work for this addon due to a lack of support for live resolvers in the Kodi community. However, a developer who could create live resolvers would be able to integrate nicely with this addon.

Google Links

In order to get Google links to resolve, you have to be logged into the Google Kodi addon. Refer to our guide on that for more information!

 

Context Menu

By selecting More actions in the play window or pressing the menu button on any stream, you will bring up the context menu. This menu has the following options:

• Add to Bookmarks
• Go to the subreddit that the media file was located on
• Save the subreddit
• Open thread (to read)
• Scrape comment for URLs (handy for live IPTV links which may be buried in the comments)
• Play the file

 

 

How to Install Reddit Browser Kodi Addon

Standard Method

1. From the Kodi main menu, navigate to SYSTEM > File Manager > Add Source > None
2. Type the following EXACTLY http://fusion.tvaddons.co and select Done
3. Highlight the box underneath and enter a name for this media Source like repo and then click OK
4. Go back to your home screen.
   • ON Kodi 17 Krypton or later: Select Add-ons > Add-on Browser 
   • ON Kodi 16 or earlier: Select SYSTEM > Add-Ons
5. Select Install from Zip File > repo > kodi-repos > english > repository.xbmchub-x.x.x.zip and wait for the Add-on enabled notification
6. Select Install from Repository > TVADDONS.co Addon repository > Video Add-ons > Reddit Browser > Install
7. Wait for Add-on enabled notification

 

Git Browser Method

If you don’t already have the Git Browser Kodi addon installed, click here to read our guide and then come back here and use the instructions below.

1. From your Kodi home screen.
   • ON Kodi 17 Krypton or later: Select Add-ons > Add-on Browser 
   • ON Kodi 16 or earlier: Select SYSTEM > Add-Ons
2. Select My Addons > Program Add-ons > Indigo
3. Navigate to Addon Installer > Git Browser > Search By GitHub Username > **New Search**
4. Enter tvaddonsco into the search bar and then click OK. Select repository.xbmchub-x.x.x.zip from the list, making sure you select the highest revision of the repository.
5. After the repository has installed, click Continue when you get the popup.
6. Back out of the Indigo addon and navigate to SYSTEM > Add-ons > Install From Repository > TVADDONS.co Addon Repository > Video Addons > Reddit Browser > Install
7. Wait for the Add-on Enabled Notification

Subreddits exist for any and every topic you can possibly imagine.

The use of the Kodi media center’s context menu is critical to achieving the maximal benefits of Reddit Browser.

Depending of your platform, the context menu is launched via different methods.

Context menu could be opened by either a right mouse button click, long left mouse button click, long key press on mobile phones, tablets, and remote controls.

Certain remote controls even have a dedicated context menu button assigned (usually ‘c’).

Both unregistered and registered users can take full advantage of this Kodi addon.

Unregistered users have access to the local bookmarking feature, while registered addons may also access their subscriptions and saved items.
