Important Kodi Tips App Changes + New Features

The Kodi Tips app, available for iPhone and Android devices, has been downloaded over 30,000 times! And now, we are excited to announce some new changes to the add-on that will improve the experience of both the user and the administrator working behind the scenes of the app!

Previously, all users had to “subscribe” to different Kodi repos within the Kodi Tips add-on in order to receive push notifications! This process was tedious and flawed for a few reasons:

• Users had to manually subscribe to repos in order to receive updates.
• The Kodi Tips administrator had to go and manually assign all users into different groups for each repo.
• Due to limitations of the backend software, users could never see which repos they were currently subscribed to and had to hope for the best.
• Only repos included in the add-on were being monitored, so some add-ons could not be reported on.
• Sending push notifications to users and updating the “Latest Kodi Updates” section of the app was two separate steps, which means that the two are often not in sync.

Starting today, we’ve updated the way the add-on works! Here is an outline of what’s changed:

• No more subscribing to repos! By downloading the Kodi Tips app, we assume you are a fan of Kodi add-ons, KodiTips.com, or both and by default, are interested in receiving Kodi updates.
• You now receive a push notification whenever we update the “Latest Kodi Updates” section of the app! This means we can put more detail in this section about what’s changed and changes here are always in sync with your push notifications.
• We’ve added a new section to the app called “PPV & Special Events Info” where we can post information about upcoming PPV and special streaming events on Kodi! You can automatically receive push notifications from this section as well!

Want to turn off push notifications for one of the three sections above?

• Launch the Kodi Tips App
• Select My Account
• Select Push Notifications
• Select Settings (Gear icon in top right)
• Toggle notifications on or off for either of the two options:
  • Latest Add-on Updates
  • PPV & Special Events Info
