Netflix Kodi Addon Install Guide: Stream Netflix Inside of Kodi!

If you are a Netflix subscriber, you’ve probably always wanted a place inside of Kodi to do your official streaming. The Netflix Kodi addon  is here for the upcoming Kodi 18 Leia to make all that happen!

Follow our guide below and learn how to get Netflix inside of Kodi on any operating system such as Android, Windows, Linux, and more.

Netflix Kodi Addon – Why Now?

Netflix has been live in its current form since 2007 and Kodi was created was back in 2002. So why has it taken so long for a Netflix Kodi addon to come out?

The answer in simple terms in DRM

Digital Rights Management is a technical process that restricts the use of applications inside of other applications. In order for Netflix to be accessible by an open source media center like Kodi, both sides must support DRM to read each other.

As of Kodi 18 Leia (which just reached beta status), Kodi now supports DRM. This makes official applications such as the Netflix Kodi addon more possible and is exciting for the future of Kodi addon development!

Sounds great? There are just a few other things you should know about..

Netflix Kodi Addon – Restrictions

In order for the Netflix Kodi addon, you need to have the following:

  1. An updated version of Kodi 18 Leia – The official beta #1 release or the nightly build will suffice.
  2. Inputstream Adaptive v2.0 or great. This is automatically installed with Kodi 18!

We’ve talked about Inputstream Adaptive before, but it is a Kodi module that enables streaming of DRM content such as what you see in Netflix.

The Netflix addon will NOT work in Kodi 17.

Non-Android Users

Non-Android Kodi users have one tiny more step to complete before being able to use Netflix. You must install the Widevine Libary in your Kodi folder.

To do this, you must download the Widevine Library and place this film inside the cdm folder of your Kodi special folder. Use these links to help you!

Linux Users

Linux users have one final additional step to complete before installing Netflix. You must install the Cryptdome Python library. To do this, run the following command from a Linux terminal:

pip install –user pycryptodomex

And with that, let’s install Netflix!
