Kodi VPN Install Guide (IPVanish Coupon Code)

Are you looking for the best Kodi VPN service? Protect yourself on the internet, make your connection anonymous, and access content blocked in your area with a Kodi VPN service.

In today’s ever-changing world, you want the best Kodi VPN to secure you on the internet. Placing your home computer or Kodi box behind a VPN network can keep your online presence private and stop your internet service provider from tracking your internet usage. Let us show you why a VPN is important and also how to get an IPVanish coupon code!

What Does a Kodi VPN Do?

A Kodi VPN service allows you to use add-ons that may be blocked or tailored by location. For example, service providers in the UK and USA have started to blocked certain streaming websites so that you can’t watch its content. They’ve filtered out content that limits your access to the internet.

We studied some of the main providers used by Kodi addons and found that some internet Service Providers block over half of the streaming websites on the internet.

As well, Acestream live videos share your connection with other users while they play, which allows for less buffer and higher reliability. However, this leaves your connection exposed to other users and your service provider who can see what you are streaming. A VPN can hide your connection and allow you to stream freely.

VPNs have become more and more useful in the last year, after internet service providers in multiple countries have began to push for more control on how their users access the internet. Service providers in the UK, USA, and Canada have began sharing user information with governments on request more often. Recent government bills, such as Snoopers Charter, threaten open internet access for users. Keep the internet free for all users and support net neutrality.

Access Sites Blocked By GDPR

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has just taken effect in the European Union (EU). This gives users more protection over their privacy and forces businesses to have you opt in so that they are allowed to send you emails and messages.

Many websites that are outside the EU have decided rather than comply with the regulations they would rather just block EU visitors, either temporarily or permanently. The Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, Orlando Sentinel and Instapaper are just some of the companies to have chosen to block the entire EU population rather than comply with GDPR.

Hide yourself behind a VPN in order to gain free access to the entire internet.

  1. Ok. I have a Kodi Blue Box that I use with my SamSung Tv. I get cable through Spectrum and downloaded IP vanish to my iPhone…..now what? Help me Obi-Wan!

  2. Why do you state about VPvanish, “NO traffic laws are kept on file ever.” What does this mean (I’m in Au).

  3. Good read. Thanks for sharing. I will bookmark your post. Usually I use Express vpn or PIA. And before browsing the Web I use 2ip service to check my ip address is really hidden. It’s the most reliable way to check the vpn service efficiency.

  4. I have Kodi Kryton 17.3 Covenant via FireStick which worked just fine…I installed IP Vanish and now attempting to stream ANY movie comes up with a NO STREAM AVAILABLE message WTF…what settings do i use

  5. Hi, I have a matricom kodi box using kodi 17….I also have a sky Q hub router….I have been using tunnel bear vpn….but found that after paying get for it its does not support kodi despite saying it’s android compatible….does ip vanish work with this set up and if not what can I use and how do I set it up….any help much appreciated

  6. Hi Jim:
Without VPN: Ping is 39, Download is 37.10 and Upload 5.51
WITH ExpressVPN: Ping is 54, Download is 8.77 and Upload is 4.59

So yes, you can see I’m quite fast, and I do slow down! With me Download
speed I’m just fine streaming! No problems what so ever.

  7. HI. Did the VPN impact your download speeds? I average 112Mbps…download speed…but have heard that a VPN slows downloads considerably. Thx.

  8. I purchased a Nighthawk 7000 and they (flashrouters) flashed it to my Express VPN. Now the house router has it and everything and all guests can use it too. I’m in Canada and my best VPN channel is New Jersey 2. It makes it look like I’m in the USA. If I wanted to I could sign into UK or anywhere in the world with Express VPN. It was well worth the money

  9. i thought that a VPN could be installed from the router and that would protect all computers in house including Kodi’s IP. I wish someone could give a brief explanation about if my understanding is true or not. It might help a lot of newbies here. Thanks

  10. Lost my remote to the fire stick. Can I use the fire stick app without updating to amazon and messing everything up?

  11. My new Rasberry PI 3 is arriving today and I’m going to use it for Kodi, I previously used an Amazon fire stick but it just kept crashing and doing my head in so thought I would upgrade. Also as I am now upgrading I thought it was about time I got myself a VPN and have chosen to go with IP Vanish.
My first question is how do I set it up? Is it just through a Kodi addon or from the computer which my Wireless hub is wired to? This leads me to my next question can I use IP Vanish with more than just Kodi like others here: https://www.kodivpn.co/kodi-vpn/ ?

  12. Hi Chris: I don’t have IP Vanish and u know Kodi likes them. I chose a different one but I’m pretty sure they are basically the same. Mine is on my iPhone my iPad and my Mac book pro. It’s also on my T8 box directly and I had mine FLASHED directly on my NightHawk Router so the whole house and visitors can log on. It’s just the 1 price fir it all. I wouldn’t be without it. I’m innCanada and I’m using Kodi daily. You need a VPN and IPVanish is as good I’m sure as mine is!!! Plus it’s already loaded in your streaming box

  13. Can I put this on multiple devices of mine with one purchase. Or do I have to purchase one for every fire stick I have?

  14. Having trouble steaming days of our lives, it was working but now it states no stream available
    Please help.

    Thank You
    James Koenig

  15. Having issues with watching days of our lives on streaming .It states no steam available. We streamed days for a few months and then it stopped and is saying no stream available
    Please help

    Thank You
    James Koenig

  16. Kodi is love no matter whatever you stream, it does excite my curiosity to unlock geo restricted content especially. A perfect VPN combination of Kodi with any VPN is fantabolous.

  17. sometimes I actually wonder, maybe opensource community for Kodi is bigger than official community. Maybe that’s what makes Kodi so popular. But this content blocking thing is really getting on my nerves now. I was actually playing a little too safe by not accessing blocked content at all. Then my obsession took over :p and i found a way to get around this. It was VPN all along. apparently, i just had to mask my IP with some other IP using Ivacy. Well, since then, i’ve actually come to realize the REAL potential of Kodi.

  18. I purchased product, but not sure how to use it, do I install it on my PC or do I install it on my Kodi device, and please tell me how do I install it?

  19. I watch Kodi mostly from my TV attached to my T-8 box and sometimes from my Mac computer. I also have students who stay who use my internet, so does this have to be on all_ computers, and my T-8? What about my students using my internet and Kodi??

  20. I am using Exodus and ExodusFR.
I have install a VPN and my problem is which country should I connect to?

I have try a few and I still see “Working” but the movie won’t play!!

What should I look for to know which country to connect?
(Sometime it is obvious, sometime it isn’t”)

  21. my friend took a computer course and graduated from college.and it still took him 5 hours to try and get it to work on kodi through my router. still not sure. it is going to computer first then to kodi and buffering like never before.i only purchased 1 month and if he does not get it working better i will not get it anymore.

  22. Read all the comments on here, before deciding to purchase VPN. Dizzle the instructions are given “after” you purchase the VPN… And!! as I’ve read through the comments it does not work on the fire stick.. For me as a customer I would like to see a doc with instructions before buying!!! So I will not bother. Thanks for the comments guys this has helped.

  23. If anybody read in the beginning what the admin said, it says if you click on the ipvanish link on the post, which is up top in blue, it will give take yoy to the sign up with all the instructions. The admin also mentions that if you have an android box, you can get it in the play store.

  24. Why post an article like this and not include any documentation on how to set it up? I’ve started working on this and realised (too late, purchased it!) although it works perfectly fine on Windows there’s issues with Kodi on Android TV boxes.
    Thanks for the misleading article.
Has anybody successfully configured their VPN on their TV box?

  25. Why does this article show the WINDOWS app and imply the service works with Kodi. I mean, it does if you manually configure it outside of the GUI or use something like http://brianhornsby.com/kodi_addons/openvpn to get it to work. There’s just no easy VPN configuration by default within Kodi. Then you have to worry about IPv6 or DNS Leaks, WebRTC issues from the browser usage… there needs to be some better documentation here.

Also, Android TV Boxes = NO as of February.

  26. I have Kodi v15.2 Isengard running on my TV. I need a VPN that will give me a speed of 6-8mbps through my router. I pay my ISP for a speed of 25mbps but get on average maximum 18mbps. I live in Thailand. Can you recommend something fast enough to avoid buffering.

  27. Will I be able to to use your vpn on my skyhub box as they have a diffrent pasword and username for getting into vpn settings Iam in UK

  28. I’am ising ipvanish vpn and must say your claims are untrue it is one of the worst I’ve ever used I’am going back to vpnunlimited at least I could ice films with that VPN .

  29. yes i also recommend IPvanish, they really offering good service and i am very much satisfy with their service, however if you are willing to explore more best vpn service then i will suggest you to visit this page vpnranks.com because i also chose vpn after getting review from this website.

  30. You guys should be pushing this out thru your router if your router supports VPN. There is no reason why anyone should not have this especially with using Kodi.

  31. For the people asking how to install ipvanish on firestick. first install the ipvanish app from play store onto your android phone, then install apps to fire tv app from play store to your phone also. Then using apps to fire tv, transfer ipvanish to fire stick. You will then be able to launch it from the Manage Applications option in the settings on the Amazon home screen

  32. Hi guys
I have used VpnOneClick. It was fine but my new tv box is booting to Kodi (pure Linux tv box).
Any Vpn addon for HD streaming geo-blocked services?

  33. @fred im using an android tv box but like most things on these cheap devices it doesn’t work well…dont purchase it

  34. I am using ipvanish for the first time today and I must say im totally dissapointed. All my live streams are buffering but when I turn it off everything works perfect

  35. I see by a few questions re: whether ipvanish will or will not work on a android tv box and as of yet there has not been a answer to this. PLEASE answer as there are many with this equipment it will make the decision to purchase or not. Thank You, Fred

  36. Hi
Is ipvanish compatible with Linux tv box (Arnu Mach 10)?
Good speed for HD streaming? Any data limit?

    Thanks
    Peter

  37. Hi, If I buy your service IP Vanish does consume from my ISP data download since I have a limited 50G a month because I read unlimited bandwidth , please explain before I buy .

  38. Hi please can you tell me where I can find instructions to install IPVanish on a fire tv box or stick. I have managed to download on my laptop to use on my Kodi there but really would like on my smart tv/ fire devices.

  39. I believe you can click the link above to go to the ipvanish site, then click on software, and download the Ubuntu version and make sure it install on osmc. You can install and get to the login page before buying anything. If you are in the software and everything looks good then buy and your username and pass gives you access. If location isn’t important then yeah pick a close one. If you want us Netflix pick one in the us. Hope that helps!

  40. A little new to how VPN works and am slightly confused.

Currently I have a Raspberry Pi2 running OSMC.
I would like the VPN for security from my ISP / keeping me anonymous.
I don’t necessarily want all my devices in my home to be not he VPN (ruling out installing on router) but if I can’t figure out how to do it simply on OSMC then that will be what I do.

I currently live in Canada. Would I select a server that’s in Canada as it might be faster due to proximity? Or do I go with another country altogether? I’m thinking US for US Netflix.

    Any advice would be helpful

  41. If you click on the ipvanish link on this post, there is a section on the website with instructions for how to download on your operating system and also how to get it set up right at your router so you can set it up and forget about it

  42. Hey
Thanks for this article. But which country do you use when you leave in US ? is there one faster or better then other ?
