Premiumize Kodi Information, Review, and Setup Guide

Premiumize is a paid cloud downloader and debrid service. When you connect Premiumize to Kodi, supported addons can pull cached torrent and file host links from Premiumize’s own servers instead of slow, overloaded free sources, so streams start faster and buffer less.

What Is Premiumize and How Does It Work With Kodi?

Premiumize downloads files on its own servers and hands them back to you at full speed. You can give it a link, a magnet or a torrent, and it fetches the file into your 1 TB cloud storage. When Kodi asks for a stream through an addon, Premiumize answers with a direct link, so playback doesn’t depend on a slow seeder or a busy file host.

Anything Premiumize already has cached starts quickly, and files you save to your cloud stay in your account until you delete them. That makes it useful both as a faster source for addons and as a place to keep your own media.

Most Kodi addons don’t talk to Premiumize directly. They use a helper called ResolveURL, so you link your account to it once and every addon that relies on it picks up your Premiumize links. How Much Does Premiumize Cost?

Premiumize no longer sells a 3-month plan, and VAT may be added depending on where you live. You can pay by credit card, PayPal and other methods depending on your region. New customers can ask for a refund of their first payment within 14 days of paying, so read the refund policy before you buy.

Premiumize costs more than Real Debrid. The yearly plan is the better deal if you plan to use it all year, while the monthly plan is a low-risk way to try it.

What Features Does Premiumize Include?

The cloud storage and WebDAV access are what set Premiumize apart from a plain debrid service. If all you need is links for Kodi addons, you’re paying for extras you may never open. If you want to keep your own files online and browse them from Kodi without an addon, they’re the reason to pick it.

Premiumize’s terms mention a VPN it provides to members, but they ban P2P file transfers on it unless a server has been specifically released for that, and they ban using the service from several IP addresses in a short time, with frequent VPN server changes given as an example. Treat it as a bonus, not a replacement for a proper Kodi VPN.

How Do Premiumize Fair-Use Points Work?

Premiumize limits heavy use with a points balance. A new membership or a renewal tops your balance up to a maximum of 1,000 points, and 30 points come back every day at midnight UTC. Your balance and limit are shown in your account dashboard.

If you use up your points, access to services is restricted until the daily top-up arrives or you buy booster points. Booster points expire 12 months (360 days) after you buy them and only work while you have a premium membership. Each service has its own multiplier, and points are used up as Premiumize fetches data for you, so large files cost more than small ones.

In practice, a casual viewer who streams a few movies a week is unlikely to notice the limit. Someone who downloads whole seasons in high quality can drain the balance quickly, so check the dashboard first if links suddenly stop working.

Is Premiumize Worth It Compared to Real Debrid?

It depends on what you’ll use. Real Debrid is cheaper and covers the basic job of giving Kodi addons fast links. Premiumize earns its higher price if you want 1 TB of cloud storage, WebDAV access, cloud sync or RSS automation on top of that. Its downsides are the price, the fair-use points and the fact that you need a paid membership from day one. The 14-day refund on a first payment is the closest thing to a trial.

How to Sign Up for Premiumize

Go to the Premiumize website and click the Sign Up button.

Enter your email address and a password, then register. Signing up is free and doesn’t need a credit card.

Premiumize may send a confirmation link to your email address. Click it to activate your account. Then log in, choose the 1 month or 1 year plan and follow the payment process to get premium access.

How to Add Premiumize to Kodi With the Device Code

ResolveURL is the fork of URLResolver that most addons use to turn links into streams, and you can read more about it in our ResolveURL guide. It used to log in to Premiumize with a Customer ID and PIN. Premiumize now uses a device code, the same kind of login a smart TV uses, so you approve Kodi from your phone or computer instead of typing credentials into Kodi.

1. From the Kodi home screen, open Add-ons, open the add-on browser, then go to My add-ons > Dependencies.
2. Select ResolveURL and choose Configure.
3. Open Universal Resolvers and scroll down to Premiumize.
4. Make sure Premiumize is Enabled and set its Priority to 90, or anything lower than 100, so Premiumize links appear at the top of your results.
5. Choose (Re)Authorise My Account. Kodi shows a code and a web address.
6. On your phone or computer, go to premiumize.me/device, log in, enter the code and approve the request.
7. Back in Kodi you should see Premiumize Resolver Authorised. Click OK to save your settings.

The next time you play something from an addon that relies on ResolveURL, you’ll see Premiumize links in the source list.

What Does the Cached Torrents Only Setting Do?

With Cached torrents only on, ResolveURL only plays torrents that Premiumize already has cached, and those start almost instantly. If you turn it off, Premiumize will download uncached torrents to your cloud first. That takes longer and counts against your fair-use points, so leave it on unless you can’t find a working source.

How to Set Up Premiumize WebDAV in Kodi

Premiumize gives you WebDAV, FTP and SFTP access to your cloud. WebDAV lets you add your Premiumize cloud to Kodi as a normal video source, so you can stream your own files without an addon.

To set up Premiumize WebDAV:

1. From the Kodi home screen, click the Settings gear icon.
2. Click File manager.
3. Click Add source.
4. Click Browse.
5. At the bottom of the list, select Add network location…
6. Set the Protocol to WebDAV server (HTTPS), the Server address to webdav.premiumize.me and the Port to 443. Then enter the WebDAV login details shown in your Premiumize account.
7. Give the source a name such as Premiumize and click OK.

Premiumize’s terms don’t allow sharing your login or API key with anyone, so keep these details private.

You can now open the source like any other in Kodi. A tidy way to use it is to create a Movies folder and a TV Shows folder in your Premiumize cloud and add each folder to your Kodi library:

1. From the Kodi home screen, go to Videos > Files.
2. Click Add videos…
3. Click Browse.
4. Scroll down and select your Premiumize source, choose the movie or TV folder, then click OK.
5. Set This directory contains to Movies or TV shows, whichever applies.
6. Choose your information provider, such as The Movie Database or TheTVDB.
7. Click OK.

Kodi scans the folder and adds the titles it finds to your library. When you add new files to Premiumize later, run a library update to pick them up.

Premiumize Not Working in Kodi? Fixes That Help

Premiumize Device Code Expired or Authorization Failed

Device codes expire if you wait too long. In ResolveURL, choose (Re)Authorise My Account to get a fresh code, make sure you’re logged in at premiumize.me/device, and enter the new code right away.

Premiumize Links Missing From Your Source List

Check that Premiumize is enabled in ResolveURL and that your membership hasn’t expired. If the account is fine, choose Reset My Authorisation and then authorise again. If you only see Premiumize links for some titles, Cached torrents only may be hiding anything Premiumize hasn’t cached yet.

Premiumize Stops Working After Heavy Streaming

You may have used up your fair-use points. Log in to your dashboard to check your balance. Points come back at 30 a day, or you can buy booster points if you need more right away.
