June 19th @ 21:00pm EST Update: The original Openload domain has now come back online and is working again in all Kodi addons. Enjoy!
Kodi users are opening up their favorite media player app today to discover Openload not working in Kodi. The popular file hosting resolver has had its domain go offline and it is causing all links to show an error when clicked on.
Openload.co is the official domain name and it has been suspended, supposedly by its registrar Tucows.
Openload is currently listed as the #159 most visited website on the internet, passing nearly every other legal and grey-area file hosting service. It has over 36 million backlinks pointing to its domain and links. Openload not working or down is going to cause a lot of confusion for Kodi users.
If you try to access the Openload website, you’ll be greeted with the following error page:
Interestingly, the WHOIS domain information for Openload lists a status of “serverHold’. The serverHold domain status is uncommon and “usually enacted during legal disputes, non-payment, or when your domain is subject to deletion.”
The domain previously went offline in 2016 but was changed to a different registrar and brought back online.
So far, there is no announcement on Openload not working from the official team
Openload Not Working in Kodi Fix
For Kodi users, how can you fix Openload links and get them working again?
Currently, there is nothing you can do on your own, but addon developers can switch to an Openload backup domain. Oload.stream and Oload.life are working alternatives that serve the same content.
As long as a Kodi addon or popular resolver such as ResolveURL or URLResolver changes the Openload resolver to point to a backup domain, your links will begin working fine again.

Hi there,
I’m having the same issue with Openload not working in Kodi. I’ve tried all the fixes suggested in the blog post, but nothing is working.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
