That’s why if you find Seren not working, we want to make sure you fix your problems. We want all users to be able to enjoy this addon
So, let’s have a look at how we can fix your Seren Kodi addon problems.
How to Fix Seren Not Working – Kodi Troubleshooting & Help Guide
The Basics
First of all, let’s make sure that you have the basics covered. Before we dig into Seren-specific problems, there are a few important Kodi things we need to take care of.
Make sure you are running Kodi 17 Krypton or Kodi 18 Leia
The first thing you want to make sure is that you are running a version of Kodi that supports Seren. The Seren Kodi addon was built for Kodi 17 or 18 and tested extensively on both.
Users who use SPMC or another Kodi fork have reported that the addon will not show up in the Seren repository video add-ons. Inside of the Seren video addons folder, you can press the left button on your keyboard or remote and toggle the Hide Incompatible option. Seren will show up if you select to show incompatible addons, but we don’t recommend installing this addon.
Kodi forks like SPMC provided a way to extend Kodi’s life after Kodi 17 required the use of Android 4.4 or later. However, they are not being maintained and updated to the same level as the official Kodi app. With Kodi 18 rewriting so much of the code in the back end, we don’t recommend using any fork anymore.
If you are still using an Android 4.4 box, we highly recommend buying a new Kodi box today, one that supports the latest version of Kodi and will fix your Seren not working issues.
Only Install Seren From the Official Repository
Never install any Kodi addons from an unofficial repository. In addition to issues in installing addon dependencies, there is a risk that you won’t see any valid addon updates in the future and you will always see Seren not working for you.
The official Seren Repository address is https://nixgates.github.io/packages and the valid install method can be found in our Seren Kodi install guide.
Advanced Seren Not Working Tips
Make sure you have a Real-Debrid or Premiumize account
Seren was built from the ground up with full Real-Debrid and Premiumize support. In order to really take advantage of its features, you should sign up and have a valid premium account to at least one of these services today.
In simply terms, Premiumize has better integration (better cached torrenting and cloud downloading/removal) but comes at a price premium over Real Debrid.
The official Seren scraper pack requires Real-Debrid or Premiumize right now.
There is work underway to port LambdaScrapers into the Seren Kodi addon. This will improve the usability for Kodi users without a premium account and reduce the amount of Seren not working questions.
You can follow us on Twitter or Facebook or on our home page to find out when LambdaScrapers can be integrated into Seren!
Make sure you follow the WHOLE Seren Install Guide
If your Seren is not working, it may be that you haven’t followed our whole Seren Install guide or you didn’t follow the guide on our site at all.
In addition to the regular process of installing the addon, Seren has a few extra steps required to get things going. These steps include syncing your accounts, enabling scrapers, and customizing a few of the settings.
If you’ve only installed the Kodi addon so far, you’ll find Seren not working and you’ll want to go back and read our entire guide.
Make sure your Trakt account is synced to Seren
Part of the Seren setup guide is to sync a Trakt account into the addon. Trakt keeps track of what shows and movies you are watching or interested in. If you are finding that some of the features we talked about are missing, then Seren is not working because Trakt is not configured!
It is highly recommended that you check out what a Trakt account can do for you to today and sync it with Seren today.
Seren ‘Failed to Install Dependency’ Error
If you are seeing the “failed to install dependency” Kodi error when trying to install the Seren addon, the fix is fairly simple.
This issue has to do with the Gaia Kodi Repository, which is not configured correctly and is causing issues with one of the common dependencies that is also used by Seren.
To fix this problem, navigate into Addons > Add-on Browser (package icon) My Addons > Add-on Repository. Click on the Gaia Repository and then click Disable.
Now, install Seren using our guide. When you are done, use the instructions above to re-enable the Gaia Repository in order to receive future updates.
Seren Not Working After New Update
If the new update to the Seren Kodi addon has stopped things fro working, you can wipe your addon data and re-setup your settings as follows:
