In this tutorial guide, I’ll show you exactly how to install the Scrubs V2 Kodi addon on your Android TV box or Amazon Firestick. Before you spend time on it, though, I’ll also tell you what I found when I checked whether Scrubs V2 still works, because that answer has changed a lot since this addon was a go-to free pick.
Scrubs V2 is a free-links movies and TV shows addon for Kodi, built by the developer JewBMX as a fork of the old Exodus addon. It’s an unofficial third-party addon installed from the JewRepo repository.
Plus, is the Scrubs V2 Kodi addon safe to install, does it work with Real Debrid, and what should you use instead if it won’t play anything? I’ll cover all of that below, along with fixes for the errors people run into most.

Is Scrubs V2 Still Working? What We Found
Short answer: Scrubs V2 still installs, but it’s no longer maintained, and a lot of the time it won’t find a working stream. If you searched “scrubs v2 not working” this year, the problem is very likely the addon itself and not your setup.
Here’s what I checked before writing this guide:
- The repository is still online. The JewRepo source at https://jewbmx.github.io/ loads and still serves the repository zip, so the install steps below work.
- The addon hasn’t been updated since October 2024. Version 5.1.42 is the latest release in the developer’s GitHub repository. Its changelog promised scraper fixes in the next update, and that update never came.
- Many of its free sources are gone. Scrubs V2 ships with 58 built-in providers. When I checked each provider’s website, roughly 16 didn’t respond at all and several more now redirect to parked or ad pages. The ones that still load are being scraped with code written for how those sites looked in 2024.
- Users are reporting the same thing. Recent comments on other Kodi guides from April and May 2026 describe the addon as having nothing that plays, or say it hasn’t been updated in over a year.
So why write an install guide at all? Because people still look for it, and some titles still turn up a link now and then, especially older movies.
Just go in knowing it’s a long shot, and if you want something that plays reliably, jump to the Scrubs V2 alternatives that still work.
What Is the Scrubs V2 Kodi Addon?
Scrubs V2 is a movies and TV shows addon from JewBMX, a long-time Kodi developer who also hosts it in his own repository, JewRepo. It grew out of the Exodus addon code base, so if you’ve used Exodus or one of its many forks, the layout will feel familiar: Movies, TV Shows, My Stuff, More Stuff, and Tools on the main menu.
What made Scrubs V2 popular was that it didn’t need a paid account. Instead of pulling cached files through a debrid service, it scrapes free streaming websites for links and plays them through ResolveURL. That’s also why it has aged so badly: free streaming sites change domains and layouts constantly, and without an active developer fixing the scrapers, the source list slowly stops working.
Scrubs V2 Kodi Addon Features You Should Know About
Scrubs V2 Providers You Can Toggle On and Off
Scrubs V2 lets you switch each of its free-link providers on or off individually under Tools > Provider Settings, with Enable ALL and Disable ALL buttons at the top. The developer’s own advice was to disable the providers you don’t use, which is even more useful now that so many are dead: fewer providers means shorter searches and fewer broken results to scroll past.
Scrubs V2 Trakt and TMDb Integration
You can authorize both Trakt and TMDb from the Tools menu. Once they’re linked, Scrubs V2 can pull your Trakt watchlists and progress into My Stuff, sync your Trakt collection to the Kodi library, and use TMDb or Trakt for trailers and metadata. This part of the addon still works fine, since it relies on official APIs rather than free streaming sites.
Scrubs V2 Downloads and Subtitles
Downloads and subtitles are both turned off by default. To download, go to the Special Settings tab, turn on Enable Downloads, and set your movie and TV download folders; the download option won’t appear on a source until the folders are set. For subtitles, Scrubs V2 uses the a4kSubtitles addon, which is also hosted on the same JewBMX source.
Scrubs V2 Review: What We Like and What We Don’t Like
What We Like About Scrubs V2
- Completely free, no debrid or premium account needed
- Fast, lightweight Exodus-style menus
- Every provider can be toggled on or off
- Trakt and TMDb integration still works properly
- Useful playback filters (remove CAM, remove HEVC, min and max quality)
What We Don’t Like About Scrubs V2
- No updates since October 2024, and no new release in sight
- Many providers are dead or redirect to ad pages
- Most links that do show up are SD or 720p
- Debrid support is labeled untested by the developer
- Frequent No Stream Available and Playback Failed errors
Is the Scrubs V2 Kodi Addon Safe to Use?
Scrubs V2 isn’t in Kodi’s official repository, so like any third-party addon, you’ll see Kodi’s standard permissions warning the first time you install it.

This warning tells you that addons can access personal files on your Android TV box. That’s normal for any unofficial Kodi addon and isn’t unique to Scrubs V2. We ran the JewRepo URL through VirusTotal before publishing this guide, and it came back clean across all 91 security vendors that scanned it. That tells you the repository itself isn’t serving known malware, but it says nothing about the streaming sites the addon pulls links from.
Those sites are the bigger safety issue. Scrubs V2 plays streams from free streaming websites, and several of its old provider domains now redirect to ad and parked pages. Stick to the links it shows inside Kodi, don’t follow prompts to install anything else, and protect your connection with a good Kodi VPN service before you start streaming.

How to Install the Scrubs V2 Kodi Addon on Android TV or Firestick
These steps are the same on a Firestick, Fire TV Cube, Android TV box, or Kodi on a computer. If you haven’t already, turn on Unknown Sources in Kodi first, or the repository zip won’t install.

This guide will show you how to install the Scrubs V2 Kodi addon.
Total Time: 5 minutes

Click on the empty box underneath the media source name field and name it jewbmx and then click OK.
Access Kodi Addons Screen

Go back to the Kodi home screen and then click on the Addons button.
Select the Addon Browser

Access the Kodi Add-on Browser by clicking on the package icon in the upper-left corner of this screen.
Install the JewRepo Repository

Next, select Install From Repository then JewRepo then Video Add-ons then Scrubs v2. Click on Install, click OK when Kodi lists the extra addons Scrubs V2 needs, and wait for the Add-on Enabled Notification.
Scrubs V2 will now be in your Video Add-ons section. Before you search for anything, open it once and go to Tools > Provider Settings to turn off providers you don’t need. It makes every search faster.
Scrubs V2 Repository: JewRepo URL and Latest Version
The only official home for Scrubs V2 is the JewRepo repository at https://jewbmx.github.io/. That source page lists the current repository zip (repository.jewrepo-1.6.0.zip), along with a few other files JewBMX hosts, such as a4kSubtitles. If you want subtitles in Scrubs V2, you can grab a4kSubtitles from the same source without adding a second one. The addon’s code and zip history live in the developer’s jewbmx/repo project on GitHub.
The latest version of Scrubs V2 is 5.1.42, released on October 10, 2024. You can confirm which version you have inside the addon at Tools > View Change Log. If a website or video offers you a newer Scrubs V2, a Scrubs V2 APK, or a download from anywhere other than the JewRepo source, treat it as a repackaged copy and skip it.
How to Update Scrubs V2
Kodi updates addons from their repository automatically, so as long as JewRepo is installed, you’ll get any new version without doing anything. To force a check, go to Add-ons > My add-ons > Video add-ons > Scrubs v2, open its info screen, and select Update. Right now, though, there’s nothing newer to update to: 5.1.42 is the last release.
Is There a Scrubs V3?
No. There’s no Scrubs V3 from JewBMX, and there’s no maintained fork carrying the Scrubs name forward either. The developer’s only recent activity is a separate scraper-testing project that hasn’t turned into a release. If you see a Scrubs V3 advertised, it isn’t from the original developer.
Does Scrubs V2 Work With Real Debrid?
Not really. Scrubs V2 was built for free links, and it has no My Accounts section for Real Debrid, Premiumize, or AllDebrid the way debrid addons do. There is a setting called Resolve With Debrid (UnTested) in the Account Settings tab, which tries to pass links through whatever debrid account you’ve authorized in ResolveURL. As the name says, the developer never tested it.
If you already have Real Debrid authorized in ResolveURL (Tools > ResolveUrl Settings), you can turn that setting on and see if it helps with the odd host link. But don’t buy a debrid subscription just for Scrubs V2. A debrid account is far better spent on an addon built around it, like Umbrella or POV, where it actually unlocks cached 1080p and 4K streams.
Scrubs V2 Not Working? Troubleshooting Fixes
Most Scrubs V2 problems come back to dead providers, so no fix is guaranteed. These are the errors people search for most, and the things worth trying before you give up on a title.
Scrubs V2 No Stream Available
This means none of the enabled providers returned a playable link for that movie or episode. Go to Tools > Cleaning Tools > Clear Providers, then try again. If you have all providers turned off except a few, turn the rest back on with Enable ALL Providers, because the one that still has your title may be a provider you disabled. New TV episodes are the most likely to come up empty, since the TV sources have been hit hardest. For more general fixes, see our Kodi No Stream Available guide.
Scrubs V2 Playback Failed: Check the Log for More Information
You’ll see a playback failed or “one or more items failed to play” message when Scrubs V2 finds a link but the host behind it is dead or won’t resolve. Pick a different source from the list first. If every link fails, go to Tools > Cleaning Tools and run Clear All Cache and Clear ResolveURL Cache, then restart Kodi. If you want to learn how to actually check your log and diagnose your issues, click here.
Scrubs V2 Only Finding SD Links
Most of the free hosts Scrubs V2 still reaches only serve SD or 720p files, so there often isn’t an HD link to find. Check your quality settings too: in the Playback Settings tab, make sure Autoplay SD Sources Only is off and Max Quality is set to 4K. If you care about 1080p or 4K, a debrid addon is the only reliable way to get it.
Scrubs V2 Failed to Install a Dependency
Scrubs V2 needs a few helper addons: ResolveURL, which JewRepo pulls in from Gujal’s repository, plus Requests, Six, and SimpleJSON from Kodi’s official repository. A failed dependency usually means Kodi couldn’t reach one of those repositories at that moment. Restart Kodi, make sure your internet connection is working, and run the install again. Optional extras like Json IPTV, YouTube, and Trakt can be installed later from Tools > Optional Installs, so they won’t block the main install.
Scrubs V2 Buffering
Free streaming hosts are often slow, so buffering is common even on a fast connection. Try a different source first, since the host matters more than your internet speed here. If buffering happens on every addon, not just Scrubs V2, follow our guide to stop buffering in Kodi, and check whether your internet provider is throttling streams, which a VPN can get around.
JewBMX Repo Couldn’t Connect
If Kodi says it couldn’t connect to the network server when you add the source, check that the URL is typed exactly as https://jewbmx.github.io/ with no extra spaces, and that Unknown Sources is enabled in Kodi’s System settings. The repository itself is still online, so a correctly typed URL should connect. If it still fails, remove the source in File Manager and add it again.
Does Scrubs V2 Have Live TV or Sports?
Scrubs V2 is built for movies and TV shows, not live TV. Its More Stuff menu does include a few live channel lists (Sky Channels, TVpassport Channels, and Flixed Channels) plus a shortcut to install the separate Json IPTV addon, but these depend on the same kind of free sources as the rest of the addon, and they’re not a replacement for a proper live TV or sports addon.
For live sports, Mad Titan Sports is a much better free option, and our list of the best Kodi addons for live TV covers more.
Scrubs V2 Alternatives That Still Work
If Scrubs V2 isn’t finding anything for you, these are the addons I’d switch to. They’re all actively maintained, which is the one thing Scrubs V2 can’t offer anymore. You’ll find more options in our full list of the best Kodi addons.
Scrubs V2 vs Umbrella
Umbrella is the most popular Kodi addon right now and gets regular updates, but it has no free-links mode, so it needs a Real Debrid, Premiumize, AllDebrid, or TorBox account. In exchange you get fast, cached 1080p and 4K streams instead of Scrubs V2’s hit-or-miss SD links. If you’re willing to pay a few dollars a month, this is the upgrade. POV and Prism work the same way if you want a second debrid addon.
Scrubs V2 vs The Crew
The Crew is the closest match if you want another all-in-one addon that isn’t locked to debrid. It covers movies, TV shows, sports, and kids content, and its repository was updated in 2026. Free-link results are still limited, like any free scraper, but The Crew also supports debrid, so it can grow with you if you add an account later.
Scrubs V2 vs Elementum
Elementum is the best free option if you want to avoid paying for debrid. Instead of scraping streaming websites, it streams directly from torrents through its own built-in engine, and it had a new release in July 2026. Because your IP address is visible to other torrent users while you stream, you should only run Elementum with a VPN turned on.
Is the Scrubs V2 Kodi Addon Legal?
Determining the legality of the Scrubs V2 Kodi Addon is challenging without knowing if it possesses the proper licensing. Kodi Tips does not have the ability to confirm the legal status of these addons.
Plus, legality rules differ depending on what country you live in.
Copyright Concerns with Kodi Addon
At first glance, the addon appears to distribute copyrighted works without the necessary consent, which raises the concern about its legality.

Scrubs V2 Kodi Addon FAQ
How Do You Install the Scrubs V2 Kodi Addon?
Add https://jewbmx.github.io/ as a source in Kodi’s File Manager, install the JewRepo repository zip from Install from Zip File, then go to Install from Repository, JewRepo, Video Add-ons, and install Scrubs v2. The full step-by-step walkthrough is above.
Why Is Scrubs V2 Not Working?
Scrubs V2 hasn’t been updated since October 2024, and many of the free streaming sites it scrapes have shut down, moved, or changed their layout. Clearing the provider and ResolveURL caches can help with some errors, but most failures come from dead providers that only a developer update could fix.
Is Scrubs V2 Free?
Yes. Scrubs V2 is completely free and doesn’t need a debrid or premium account. The trade-off is that free links are less reliable and usually lower quality than debrid links.
Does Scrubs V2 Work on Kodi 21 Omega?
Yes. The developer built the last versions for Kodi 20 and higher, and it installs on Kodi 20 Nexus and Kodi 21 Omega. If nothing plays, dead sources are the likely cause.
Is There a Scrubs V2 APK or Downloader Code?
No. Scrubs V2 is a Kodi addon, not a standalone Android app, so there’s no official APK or Downloader code. You install Kodi on your Firestick first, then install Scrubs V2 inside Kodi from the JewRepo repository.
Is There a Scrubs Kodi Build?
Scrubs V2 is an addon, not a build. A Kodi build is a full package that changes Kodi’s skin and preinstalls many addons, while an addon is a single program you add to your existing Kodi setup. Some builds have included Scrubs V2 in the past, but you don’t need a build to use it.
How Do You Uninstall Scrubs V2?
Go to Add-ons, then My add-ons, then Video add-ons, and select Scrubs v2. Open its info screen and choose Uninstall. You can remove the JewRepo repository the same way from the Add-on repository section if you don’t use anything else from it.
Can You Use Scrubs V2 With Stremio?
No. Scrubs V2 only works inside Kodi. Stremio uses its own addon system, and there’s no Scrubs V2 version for it.
Is Using the Scrubs V2 Kodi Addon Legal?
The Scrubs V2 Kodi Addon itself is legal to install. However, not all content it can access is legally permissible depending on the source. Ensure you access only content that is within the public domain or that you have the right to stream.
Should I Use a VPN With the Scrubs V2 Kodi Addon?
Yes. Scrubs V2 streams from free third-party websites, and a VPN keeps your connection private from your internet provider and the sites you’re streaming from. It can also help if your provider throttles streaming traffic.
